Explore one of the most interesting archaeological sites in Calabria, Locri Epizephiri, founded in the 8th century BC by colonists from the Greek regions of Opuntian and Ozolian Locris. We are in the heart of Magna Graecia. Here you will be fascinated by the Ionic Temple of Marasà, the Thesmophorion sanctuary dedicated to Demeter, and towards the hills, the ruins of the Marafioti Temple, the Theater, and the Sanctuary of Zeus and Centocamere. The so-called Casino Macrì, an 18th-century building constructed on the foundations of a Roman-era thermal building, is also of great importance. Stop at the National Museum at the entrance to the archaeological area, which houses countless artifacts of immense historical and artistic value. The journey will end at a typical local farmhouse, in full contact with untouched nature, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch with local produce and the renowned Black Pig of Calabria.
